Together, we can make a difference!

This Giving Tuesday, help SDVSAS combat the rising costs of housing families by helping them meet their goal of $3,000.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, the cost per night of sheltering survivors have risen. Meeting this year's Giving Tuesday goal of $3,000 will help combat this rise in expenses by funding 187 safe shelter nights for victims of violence in 2022.

At the SDVSAS emergency shelter, the first thing our advocates do with an arriving survivor is sit down and ask them, "What do you need?" For an individual or family who often has fled the house with no belongings or money to their name, this question can feel like a lifeline.

SDVSAS takes great pride in making its shelter and shelter services feel like home for our residents. Shelter advocates provide healthy food, transportation assistance, parenting classes for those survivors whose kids have been impacted by sexual assault or domestic violence, community referrals, legal support, medical advocacy, and more. From planting a communal garden to putting together art therapy activities for shelter children, our advocates work tirelessly to bring comfort to victims of violence.

Skagit, help us keep serving survivors! Help us meet our goal and together, we will stop the cycle of violence.
