We're mixing it up this year.

To celebrate the opening of our Skagit community and the return of the ability to gather in person, SDVSAS will be deviating from its usual auction fundraiser.

Get ready to raise a glass in support of survivors, because this year, SDVSAS will be hosting its annual fundraiser at the Bertelsen Winery!

The event will feature a catered dinner, great music, lots of wine, and most importantly...the opportunity to support abuse survivors in our wonderful Skagit community. We would love for you to be part of the festivities, so snag a ticket to our 2021 Wine and Dine: “Pop a Cork for Survivors” fundraiser. Those "early birds" who register before May 23rd, 2022 will be entered to win a raffle prize during the event. All tickets include dinner and 1 wine voucher per guest.

SDVSAS exists to improve the lives of survivors and eliminate interpersonal violence in Skagit, whose rate of domestic violence is 29% higher than the state average.

Studies have shown that economic stress and hardship increase the risk of domestic violence. During the COVID-19 pandemic, SDVSAS has seen proof of this in rising demand for agency services and in the severity of violence victims are experiencing. Many survivors who experienced violence during the pandemic and were afraid or unable to reach out for support are now seeking help. As the Skagit community continues to open, SDVSAS is seeing rising demand for safe housing, advocacy via hotline calls, legal advocacy, and more. Simultaneously, regulations put in place to limit the spread of COVID-19 have decreased the agency’s ability to fundraise on a large scale through in-person events.

In fact, this is our first opportunity to fundraise in person since our community shut down in early 2020! (Raise a glass to that, folks.)

So, let's celebrate! All funds raised from the event will benefit SDVSAS programs that bring support to survivors in Skagit County. If we work together, we can continue to serve victims of violence in our community and strive to reach more survivors who need our help.
