CSEC Community Webinar

CSEC stands for "Commercially Sexually Exploited Children."

Skagit DVSAS serves this population through agency support programs and works to prevent further CSEC in the Skagit community. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic brought an increase in interpersonal violence of all kinds, so it is more important than ever that Skagit residents are educated about types of abuse and are well-versed in response options, especially for vulnerable populations.

Many community members ask us, "What can I do?"

The best intervention tool you can possess is education and knowledge. Having the right information to properly be able to identify CSEC and connect survivors to appropriate resources is a vital skill. By learning together as a community, preventing CSEC is possible.

Event Details:

• Held virtually via Zoom, this free 2-hour training will help provide the foundation for the what, who, how and why of commercial sexual exploitation of children and the ways to respond.
• Participants will leave understanding the current relevant state & federal law, will practice and consider approaches to supporting these youth, and will be provided with a list of community resources.

This training has been tailored for community members with zero to very little prior education surrounding CSEC. We are requesting that organizations limit attendance to 2 participants per training. If you would like to arrange a provider training please contact Skagit DVSAS.
