Drink some wine; support survivors. It's a win-win!

Raise your glasses, Skagit! This year, Skagit DVSAS will be hosting its annual fundraiser at the Bertelsen Winery. The event will feature a catered dinner by La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib House, great music brought to you by the talented Savanna Woods, lots of wine, and most importantly…the opportunity to support abuse survivors in our wonderful community. We would love for you to be part of the festivities, so snag a ticket to our 2022 Wine and Dine: “Pop a Cork for Survivors” fundraiser.

Tickets are $75 each and includes dinner & 1 wine voucher per guest.

This is the agency's first in-person event since the community shut down due to Covid-19 in early 2020. We are so ready to have some fun and to finally get to mingle with our supporters!

Proceeds from the event will benefit survivors of violence in Skagit County.

SDVSAS advocates have worked harder than ever during the past few years to maintain all existing agency programs, to adapt programs to satisfy health regulations, and to strive to meet growing survivor needs. The dedication of the agency staff is admirable when considering the sheer volume of work they have performed:

  • Between 2020 and 2021, SDVSAS answered 3,120 emergency hotline calls from survivors in crisis - the largest number since SDVSAS was founded in 1979.
  • SDVSAS advocates housed 145 men, women, and children in 2020. These survivors in need were provided with safe, confidential shelter for a total of 2,452 nights!
  • The prevention education team were hard at work in 2020, providing 4,538 community members with education around preventing violence and contacting 4,827 local professionals to improve systems for survivors.
  • Throughout the year, SDVSAS advocates worked diligently to continue their outreach to marginalized groups, such as the Latin-x, tribal, and rural communities.

With hard work, flexibility, and passion, SDVSAS has increased its community outreach and met the increased levels of survivor needs from 2020 to present. "We are so proud of our staff for their flexibility and adaptability in meeting the challenges of the past few years and continuing to support survivors in Skagit," said agency Executive Director, Heidi Roy.

Curious about other ways you can help the agency? As always, there are many ways to assist SDVSAS as we try to reach all survivors in Skagit.

  • Follow us on Facebook or Instagram for information on events, fundraisers, and agency programs.
  • Promote and share our events, even if you can't attend!
  • Donate to the agency. Every little bit counts, and community members' generosity directly affects the services that SDVSAS can offer.
  • Volunteer! We can always use assistance for our direct client work, office projects, and more.
